Cantania Alumni

6 June'26

A ten year adventure

This edition of Cantania is a special one: we are celebrating 10 years of the project in Brussels, an initiative by Bozar inspired by a Catalan concept. To mark this anniversary, we chose to make this year’s edition unique — a kind of “best of” featuring all the Cantanias we have presented so far.

In consultation with the teachers and the project’s artistic and production team, a list of favourite songs was compiled. Based on that list, the artistic team created a final selection (with around two excerpts from each cantata) and arranged them in a dramaturgical order.

The whole program is conceived as a symbolic journey through all the cantatas: a potpourri of memorable moments that immerses you in diverse atmospheres and themes, taking you on a musical rollercoaster.

Two charming masters of ceremony act as our guides… although they sometimes lose track of the story themselves!

The themes explored include Brussels and the world, diversity and origins, fear and wonder, connectedness and pride, the perspective of children in an adult world, celebration — and a touch of joyful madness.

We set off here and now, at Bozar, in the Henry Le Boeuf Hall, on a journey that leads us from the waters of the Zenne to other horizons around the world. The journey back is eventful and captivating, but after the necessary preparations the birthday party can finally burst open in an explosion of colours and scents. Viva Cantania!

The stars of the day are the children and their teachers, who have worked in class for a whole year to bring you this concert. Come and cheer them on!

On Saturday 6 June 2026, all the students and teachers will gather in the Henry Le Boeuf Hall in Bozar for a festive closing concert with the Boho Strings.
