¡A la fiesta, zagales!

Discover Spanish Baroque music with Cantoría in a concert full of colour, rhythm and joy. The young Catalans in Cantoría bring exuberant jácaras and villancicos to life: sparkling compositions that once brought people of all ages flocking to the Spanish churches. This music, drenched in humour, famous characters and political references, fascinated both its fans and its critics. Like the popular ensaladas in the 16th century, villancicos offered excitement during religious celebrations. They crossed the boundary between church and popular music, making mass an experience not to be missed. With its extensive ensemble of violinists, harpists, percussionists and an extra-large group of singers, Cantoría pays tribute to this playful repertoire.
