A string quartet that is steadily gaining momentum, and with results. In 2022, they won awards at the international competition for string quartets in Bordeaux and the prestigious ARD music competition in Munich. Their concert at Bozar already promises to be intense. The programme opens with György Kurtág’s exalting Officium Breve, presents polyphonic music by Josquin Desprez, and ends with a monumental work: Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 14, Op. 131. Beethoven himself considered this his most successful quartet, and listeners sometimes speak of ‘otherworldly’ or ‘superhuman’ music…
