In the wake of a universally acclaimed revival at the Festival d'Ambronay in 2010, the Argentine conductor Leonardo García Alarcón, in residence at BOZAR MUSIC, brings a fascinating work to Brussels: Il diluvio universale, by the Calabrian baroque composer Michelangelo Falvetti. This musically highly original oratorio in the tradition of Carissimi and Handel, a true masterpiece, bears the stamp of Sicily, where Eastern and Western song met and mixed.
