‘CONCERT RELOCATED TO BOZAR: Anna Dennis, Liam Byrne & Jonas Nordberg’

Soprano Anna Dennis, theorbist Jonas Nordberg and viola da gamba player Liam Byrne join forces in an adventurous exploration of the similarities and resonances between their instruments. To this end, they rely on music by French baroque masters: the programme features lute dances by Robert de Visée, songs by Michel Lambert, operatic works by Jean-Baptiste Lully and viol music by Marin Marais. More than just a literal reproduction of the original score, the repertoire has been interpreted and reworked. The result is a historic chamber music evening that feels eerily topical.
