Pergolesi composed more than the renowned Stabat Mater. In fact, this one-hit composition is not even representative of the composer’s work. The Ghislieri Consort and Giulio Prandi have already rediscovered different works by this Neapolitan composer, including the exquisite 1731 Mass in D Major. Niccolò Jommelli composed his Miserere in concert style for St Peter’s Church in Rome. Vivaldi’s Gloria RV 589 was intended for the Ospedale della Pietà in Venice and was made famous, in part, to the films Shine and The Hunter.
