‘Corporate Accountability - Jonathan Perel’

3 Nov.'22
- 17:00

During the Argentine military dictatorship (1976-1983), thousands of people were arrested, tortured and murdered without trial. The active involvement of the business community remained unexposed until now. Using a government document published in 2015, which describes the involvement of national and international corporations in crimes against humanity in 25 case studies, Jonathan Perel is breaking this silence. He makes it clear that this is not a closed chapter in history by filming the factory complexes for minutes at a time from his car. The minimal visual information draws full attention to Perel's summary of numbers, names and other facts from the report.

Jonathan Perel is a filmmaker and artist from Argentina. Researching the dark sides of Argentinian history fuels a big part of his artistic practice. His most recent films are Camouflage (2022) and Corporate Accountability (2020). His works have been selected and awarded multiple times at festivals.

The screening will be followed by a conversation with director Jonathan Perel.
