The Cuarteto Casals is without doubt Spain's leading chamber music ensemble and has gained an enviable reputation abroad. The quartet has regularly appeared in venues such as Wigmore Hall, the Musikverein in Vienna and Carnegie Hall. Remaining faithful to its Spanish roots, the Cuarteto Casals performs works by lesser-known Spanish composers, such as Arriaga and Tolrá, while also playing the repertoire classics. This versatility is also a feature of this concert. In addition to compositions by Brahms and Shostakovich, the audience will be treated to Mozart's popular “Hunt” quartet, one of the six the composer dedicated to Haydn.
