Followed by "The Damned" - Roberto Minervini

Filmmaker Roberto Minervini is in conversation with Belgian editor Marie-Hélène Dozo, with whom he collaborated on What You Gonna Do When the World’s on Fire?, The Other Side and Stop the Pounding Heart. The talk will be followed by a screening of The Damned, the Italian filmmaker’s first fiction feature, presented at the Cannes Film Festival in 2024.

In the winter of 1862, during the American Civil War but far from the front lines, a company of Union soldiers explores uncharted territory in the American West. Here, war feels neither dangerous nor thrilling, but hungry and monotonous. As these men from diverse backgrounds set up camp, play baseball, and wait, they reflect on God and life. When the enemy finally strikes, the wild nature of Montana proves to be just as deadly.
