Bozar is proud to welcome three masters of classical Ottoman music: Derya Türkan, Murat Aydemir and Christos Barbas. All three of them give instruments with age-old roots an international allure. Türkan works wonders on the kemençe, presenting a new album with the famous tanbur virtuoso Murat Aydemir. It is the successor to the acclaimed Ahenk 2, which combines pieces from Ottoman repertoire with improvisations. The combination of the tanbur and ney, in turn, is ideal to express the classical Turkish makam. Along with the Greek ney player and composer Christos Barbas, Ademir presents a recent record.
