Robin Ticciati - Hilary Hahn

Against the backdrop of a vast, barren landscape, the opening melody of Sibelius’ Violin Concerto unfolds like a song from the depths of time. In the hands of Hilary Hahn, the musical thread will come to life and span a wide spectrum of emotions. The violinist understands this piece so well that she knows it has no bounds. She embarks on a new interpretation directed by Robin Ticciati, Music Director of the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin. The British conductor and his orchestra surround Sibelius’s masterpiece with two Romantic favourites: the overture to Wagner’s Tannhäuser and Brahms’s Second Symphony, included on Ticciati’s recent divine recording of the composer’s complete symphonies. Brahms, Wagner and Sibelius: a perfect composer trio for a stunning concert.
