‘The Eternal Daughter - Joanna Hogg’

22 Sept.'23
- 19:30

Filmmaker Julie and her elderly mother Rosalind (both played by Tilda Swinton) spend several days in a strangely empty hotel in rural Wales. The ideal setting for a standard ghost story if it had not been directed by Joanna Hogg. This makes for an intimate mystery drama.

Julie hopes to find inspiration for her new film project in the former mansion, and deepen her relationship with her mother while she still can. Digging into their shared past reveals a confrontational history and a complex relationship.

The film is produced by Martin Scorsese who supports and produces the films of Joana Hogg since 2013.

The screening will be preceded by a talk with Joanna Hogg moderated by Hugues Dayez, Belgian film critic and cultural journalist. The short film Présages (2023) will be screened before the main film.

The film will play in cinemas from September 27.
