It is summer in Budapest, and Ábel is meant to be focusing on his final exams. However, his love for his best friend Janka makes it impossible for him to concentrate. Janka, in turn, is consumed by her unrequited feelings for her married history teacher, who himself is embroiled in a conflict with Ábel’s conservative father. The tensions of a polarized society take an unexpected turn when Ábel’s final exam becomes the focal point of a national scandal.
