‘Femi Kuti & The Positive Force’

20 May'23
- 21:30

No one is as fundamentally linked to the Nigerian Afrobeat scene as the Kuti family. Fela, also known as the ‘Black President’, passed on to his son Femi his passion for this musical genre, which combines West African music with American jazz and funk. But also his political commitment: Femi has lost none of the urgency that drove his father to denounce corruption in his country. With his band The Positive Force, he offers his audience torrid, generous and danceable shows. At Bozar, he will present his latest album Legacy + (Partisan Records, 2021), on which he perpetuates his family legacy with his own son, Madé Kuti.
