25th Anniversary Endless Summer
As we put our portrait artist Fennesz in the spotlight in 2026, he will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of his big breakthrough album, Endless Summer. When it was released in 2001, NME described the LP as “an album that proves experimental new music can understand and revitalise old traditions, that the avant-garde doesn't have to be grey and terrifying.” Over the years, Endless Summer has come to be seen as a turning point in electronic music: the moment when melody and noise joined hands. In the meantime, Pitchfork has nominated the album as one of the best ambient albums ever (at number 22). Especially for this anniversary, Fennesz is bringing in the video artist Lillevan, with whom he collaborated in Berlin and Hong Kong. Surf the laptop-generated soundwaves of Endless Summer and plunge into summertime with the iconic Fennesz.
