On 1 July, Slovenia takes over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union from Portugal, the second time it will hold this position since its accession to the European Union in 2004. To mark the event, Bozar will host a recital on 8 September featuring three distinguished Slovenian artists – mezzo-soprano Bernarda Fink, her bass-baritone brother Marcos, and pianist Vladimir Mlinarić – who will perform masterpieces by Slovenian, European and Argentinean composers. We also invite you to join us on 1 December for a fascinating discussion between the famous and multiple award-winning Slovenian writer Drago Jančar  and our national author Stefan Hertmans. From 3 December 2021 to 9 January 2022, we will be showcasing Slovenia’s creative genius in the arts and new technologies, as part of the annual STARTS Prize exhibition, which rewards the best innovative projects at the intersection of art, science and technology. Prior to the exhibition will be a two-day symposium, entitled The Future of Living, organised in collaboration with the Slovenian Presidency and EUNIC Brussels on the theme of artificial intelligence, our companion of the future, which will attempt to outline the contours of our future coexistence with AI. Join us in sharing the dynamism and vitality of the arts and sciences of this young country (which marks the 30th anniversary of its independence this year), whose creations, developed within the framework of international networks and partnerships, address the central challenges of contemporary Europe, and contribute to the narrative of the New European Bauhaus.
