Four Hours and Thirty Minutes

Since the early 1990s, the Belgian artist Ann Veronica Janssens has been exploring the possibilities of light, colour and sound. Until now, she has done that with sensational exhibitions in Belgium and abroad. Now her play with space and our senses is moving into the concert hall. With HERMESensemble and the musical director Koen Kessels, she will present a sensory concert experience, aka a new edition of Staging the Concert! Janssens’ exciting installation with atmospheric music distances itself from time. Even the physicality of Henry Le Bœuf Hall falls away; the musicians explore and cross the limits of our concert hall. The four basic elements and the subtle transition between liquid and solid forms are key concepts in the performance.
