Bach's The Goldberg Variations is one of the most important keyboard works. Written in 1740, the work was largely forgotten for two centuries until it was revived again in the 1930s and immortalised following Glenn Gould’s historic 1955 recording. A work that continues to win the admiration of some of the world’s greatest musicians to this day, including pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Trio Zimmermann as well as Uri Caine and his revolutionary jazz.
