Little Amélie or the Character of Rain - Maïlys Vallade & Liane-Cho Han Jin Kuang

Amélie, a Belgian girl born in Japan, explores the world thanks to her friend Nishio-san. On her third birthday, an event changes everything. At that age, happiness and tragedy are both at stake. Based on the novel by Amélie Nothomb.

Maïlys Vallade is a director, story artist and animator. She designs characters and sets for 2D and 3D animated films.

Liane-Cho Han Jin Kuang, a Gobelins graduate (2007), is a director and animation supervisor. He worked as a key animator on feature films such as Lucky Luke: Tous à l’Ouest and Sylvain Chomet’s L’Illusionniste.

This movie is shortlisted for a 2026 Academy Award.
