‘Los Ilusos - Jonás Trueba’

5 Dec.'23
- 18:00

Close-up: Jonás Trueba

What do filmmakers do when they are not making a film? In his second feature, Jonas Trueba approaches this question with a filmic experiment between friends. While they are standing waiting for the green light to shoot his new film, Trueba meets his friends and, without a defined shooting plan, he records them talking about love, life, and cinema. Eating, drinking, falling in love. A film about the desire to make films or about what filmmakers do when they don't make films.

Screening will be followed by a Q&A with the director, moderated by Hugo Amoedo.

Hugo Amoedo (Redondela, Spain) has been revolving around cinema since his arrival in Brussels in 2011. Master in Film at Luca School of Arts, he has directed several short films. During the last few years, he has also collaborated with the Instituto Cervantes Bruselas and with film festivals like Novos Cinemas (Pontevedra), FIFF (Namur), and the documentary film festival En ville ! (Brussels). He’s about to release a new short film: pechar caixas abrir caixas (‘closed boxes open boxes').
