A VR experience inside the Nicosia Buffer Zone

Nicosia, Cyprus’s capital, remains Europe’s last divided city. Since 1974, a UN-controlled Buffer Zone has cut through its historic centre, leaving homes and businesses abandoned for decades. This VR experience offers a rare glimpse into three emblematic spaces within this restricted area, guided by the memories of those who once lived there. An invitation to reflect on a city shaped by separation and time.

Lost Spaces is part of the Cultural Programme of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2026.
