Rising Star Bozar Brussels & Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam
The pianist Mariam Batsashvili focused on Liszt’s work for an entire year. As a result of her commitment, she succeeded in 2014 in becoming the first female first prize winner of the Liszt Competition. The passionate musician is now intent on given audiences throughout the world the opportunity to hear Liszt’s lyrical side. “His music exudes so much friendliness, love and other positive feelings”, according to the Georgian pianist. The works she will be playing during this concert include Sarabande and Chaconne from Handel’s first opera Almira and the Sonata in B minor. In this particular work, dedicated to Robert Schumann, raw and calm passages succeed one another.
Mariam Batsashvili is the Rising Star of BOZAR in Brussels and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Every season, starting from 1997-1998, Europe’s leading concert halls select a group of promising talents to become their “Rising Stars”. You can now enjoy all the stars of the future.
