‘Marie-Nicole Lemieux & Daniel Blumenthal’

15 Nov.'19
- 20:00

For her fourth recital at La Monnaie, Marie-Nicole Lemieux presents a programme inspired by literature that has been knowledgeably constructed around two standard-bearers of nineteenth-century romanticism. Accompanied by the Belgian pianist Daniel Blumenthal, she will perform German lieder set to texts by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe in the first part of her programme. After the break, these lieder will be mirrored in French mélodies set to poems by Charles Baudelaire. An elegy for two monuments of literature with a capital L.
