‘Miséricorde - Alain Guiraudie’

Jérémie returns to Saint-Martial for the funeral of his former employer, a baker. He stays for a few days with Martine, the widow. But between a mysterious disappearance, a threatening neighbor, and a priest with strange intentions, his short stay in the village takes an unexpected turn... 

Alain Guiraudie (born 1964) grew up in southern France and began his career with short films, including Les héros sont immortels (1990). Since 2003, he has directed seven feature films, such as Stranger by the Lake and Staying Vertical. His latest film, Miséricorde, was part of the Official Selection at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. Guiraudie has also published three novels with P.O.L.
