Basel Adra, a young Palestinian activist from Masafer Yatta in the West Bank, has been relentlessly fighting against the forced expulsion of his community by the Israeli authorities since his early years. He meticulously documents the gradual destruction of the villages in his region. During his struggle, he crosses paths with Yuval, an Israeli journalist who decides to support him. An unexpected alliance forms between them. However, their relationship is tested by the vast disparity between their realities: Basel lives under military occupation, while Yuval enjoys complete freedom, without constraints.
No Other Land, created by a Palestinian-Israeli collective consisting of Basel Adra, Yuval Abraham, Hamdan Ballal, and Rachel Szor, serves as an act of creative resistance and aims for justice in the ongoing conflict. The documentary had its world premiere earlier this year at the Berlin Film Festival, where it won the Panorama Dokumente Audience Award and the Berlinale Documentary Award. Since then, the film has been presented at several international festivals and has received numerous accolades, including the Oscar for Best Documentary.
