Olivier Saillard presents a original performance centred on the humble clothing of his mother, Renée. As a fashion historian and performances maker, Saillard gives these everyday garments new meaning, revealing their emotional and poetic value through a subtle, ritual-like gesture. Model Axelle Doué wears the pieces, while Zoé Guédard narrates. In this choreography of gestures, Saillard guides the audience's gaze, drawing their attention to the living narrative of these pieces, like memories woven into the fabric.
Invited to Bozar for the first time, Olivier Saillard shares his sensitive and conceptual approach to clothing in Les Vêtements de Renée. Echoing the two exhibitions currently devoted to the notion of beauty, this performance by Saillard gives clothing a role that is as aesthetic as it is poetic, extending far beyond the glitz and glamour promoted by today's fashion industry.
