‘Opening Night: Anouar Brahem Quartet’
Cancelled
Postponed
17 Sept.'22
- 19:30
Anouar Brahem is one of the greatest contemporary virtuosos of the oud. In his 11 albums released by ECM Records, the Tunisian musician is working to bring the age-old Arab musical tradition back into play by combining it with the worlds of jazz, western classical music and other ancestral Eastern cultures. Today, building on years of valuable collaborations, he is engaging his Quartet, created in 2009 for the recording of The Astounding Eyes of Rita, in the adventure of a new project. For the first time, Brahem Quartet revisits its own domains through a repertoire that combines some of the group's usual compositions with pieces from older albums, such as Conte de l'Incroyable Amour (1991), Madar (1992), Thimar (1998) and Astrakan Café (2000).
