Women are at the heart of the OPRL's first concert of the season. Clara Wieck-Schumann, firstly, wife of Robert Schumann and a talented composer and performer who wrote her Piano Concerto in 1835–36 at the age of sixteen. And also Claire-Marie Le Guay, grande dame of the French piano, who will bring to life the Romantic colours of her illustrious predecessor. Bruckner himself dubbed his Fourth Symphony the "Romantic"; a majestic work, it is the best known of his symphonies.
