‘PERSPEKTIVEN’

2020-2021

German Film Festivals on Tour

In its film series PERSPEKTIVEN, the Goethe-Institut Brussels and Bozar present a selection of films from major German film festivals: the Internationales Forum des Jungen Films, a highly experimental section of the Berlinale, DOK Leipzig, which shows documentary and animated films and does not shy away from taking up political positions, and the Duisburger Filmwoche, which is dedicated to German-language documentaries and focuses on intensive, self-reflective exploration of the possibilities and limitations of documentary filmmaking.

Find out about the profile of the individual festivals by watching the Belgian premieres of outstanding films. This year we are presenting a selection of four films from the programme of the Berlinale Forum 2021, as well as a specially selected film from both DOK Leipzig 2020 and Duisburger Filmwoche 2020. The festival organisers and filmmakers will be present at the screenings and available for question-and-answer sessions.

“PERSPEKTIVEN – Berlinale Forum, DOK Leipzig, Duisburger Filmwoche“ is an initiative by Goethe-Institut Brussels and BOZAR Cinema in cooperation with the Berlinale Forum, Arsenal – Institute for Film und Video Art, DOK Leipzig, Duisburger Filmwoche and Le P’tit Ciné. The series is kindly supported by the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Europe.
