‘Pocket Anthem for a Palace III - Lynn Cassiers & YUN’

31 Mar.'22
- 20:30

Dedicated to the centenary of the Centre for Fine Arts, multi-talented Lynn Cassiers created a new, polyphonic composition entitled Pocket Anthem for a Palace III. Balancing between tradition and innovation, Cassiers started creating in an improvisational manner. The polyphony of the piece symbolises the many disciplines and art forms that the Palace houses, a characteristic that was already present in 1922. She recorded the work in the Centre for Fine Arts with her YUN sextet. Afterwards, it will be heard at certain times in the Project Palace exhibition and, exceptionally, at the opening of the exhibition on 31 March.

Lynn Cassiers is a jazz musician, singer and soundscaper from Brussels. Since 2018, she has led YUN, a sextet that aims to find a new voice in the field of tension between tradition and innovation. The project premiered at De Singel and toured throughout Flanders.
