A film by Marcus Vetter & Karin Steinberger
This documentary is postponed to Sunday March, 27th at 15:45 pm at Cinema Galeries.
The Forecaster is a fascinating documentary which chronicles the troubled history of Martin Armstrong, one of Wall Street’s golden boys who had the world on a string. As the former president of Princeton Economics International Ltd, he created an economic prediction model which proved very successful for him, before becoming implicated in an immense financial scandal for which he was prosecuted in 1999 and sentenced by the American justice system. The documentary, by Marcus Vetter and Karin Steinberger, follows the footsteps of this man’s return to civil life after his long spell in prison.
A discussion as captivating as the film itself will follow the screening. It will deal with the relationship between high finance and general interests and it will be moderated by Michel Genet, a former director of Greenpeace and the present director of Etopia. It will present the contrasting analyses of university professors as well as of the political, economic and social actors who will take part in the discussion
