In the film Jackie, Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman takes on the role of Jackie Kennedy. The film tells the tale of the assassination of John F. Kennedy and the four days of national mourning, seen through the eyes of this charismatic First Lady. During this period the eyes of the whole world were fixed on this illustrious widow; a woman in mourning, who had to appear strong on the outside, to console her children and reassure a nation in shock, whilst at the same time attempting to protect her husband’s legacy.

Jackie was enthusiastically received at the Toronto Film Festival where it won the Platform Prize. The film also scooped the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice Film Festival. Jackie is the 7th film of the Chilean director Pablo Larraín and the first that he produced outside his country of origin.
