In the presence of the director.
Preceded by a short introduction with director Patrice Toye, writer Inge Schilperoord and presenter Fien Sabbe.
After the film there will be a Q&A.
Muidhond deals with the conflict raging within Jonathan, a paedophile who is released from prison due to a lack of evidence. When he returns home to live with his mother he meets Bes, a young girl from his neighbourhood. Jonathan does all he can to circumvent his feelings. Thanks to Patrice Toye’s serene handling, the story develops into a universal battle between good and evil. The main character is a man who does not want to be who he is.
Patrice Toye based Muidhond on the celebrated book of the same name by the Dutch forensic psychiatrist Inge Schilperoord. The book has sold more than 25,000 copies and won the Bronzen Uil award in 2015. It was shortlisted for the ECI Literatuurprijs 2015, the Libris Literatuur Prijs 2016 and the Fintro Literatuurprijs 2016.
