Ricercar Consort

The performances of Philippe Pierlot and his ensemble are impeccably professional and passionate at the same time. The Belgian violist can also be relied on for highly original, refreshing and carefully thought-out programmes. For this concert, he is performing an ode to Monsieur de Sainte-Colombe, the legendary 17th century French master of the viol. Together with his student, Marin Marais, Monsieur de Sainte-Colombe was one of the pioneers of the instrument, to which he is said to have added a seventh string.
