The famous Latvia-born painter Mark Rothko created an abstract, mysterious and moving body of work. For the project Rothko in Jazz, members of the Māris Briežkalns Quintet have arranged works inspired by his canvases created by ten renowned Latvian composers. You will be transported by the quintet’s warm, intoxicating music as projected works by the master come to life before your very eyes. After successfully premiering at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, Rothko in Jazz is coming to Brussels to celebrate a hundred years of Latvian independence.
