Cie Chatha
Tunisian choreographers Aïcha M’Barek and Hafiz Dhaou pull out all the stops with this personal interpretation of Stravinsky’s Le Sacre du printemps. The work is a homage to freedom. The dancers rediscover the possibilities of their bodies and move freely between cardboard figures upon which images of men and women killed in recent years in the struggle for freedom are projected. These victims were immortalised on the walls of Tunis by the artist Bilal Bereni, who himself was the victim of brutal violence in 2013. He died in Detroit at the age of 23.
