“The Revolution Won’t Be Televised” begins in January 2012, in Dakar, when President  Abdoulaye Wade succeeds in amending the Senegalese Constitution so that he can run for a third term. A bid for power that provokes a major protest movement, initiated by three rapper friends, Thiat, Kilifeu and Gadiaga. The film looks back on this unique popular movement that takes the name “Y en a marre” [Fed Up!] and that is continuing to this day. 

“The Revolution Won’t Be Televised” won the FIPRESCI Prize and Special Mention by the Caligari Jury at the 2016 Berlinale.
A question and answer session will follow the screening.
