Concert Croissant #10
Two generations, two continents, yet one common language: jazz. Belgian saxophonist Simon Comté has only just turned twenty, but people already see him as one of the most promising voices in contemporary jazz. He shares the stage with guitarist Gilad Hekselman, a prominent figure on the New York jazz scene. Comté impresses with his expressive and adventurous style, shaped by his journey between Brussels and New York. Hekselman, meanwhile, is renowned for his lyrical and refined guitar playing and has collaborated with an impressive array of leading musicians worldwide, including Aaron Parks, Chris Potter and Esperanza Spalding. As Brussels is just waking up and gathering momentum, this jazz feels like a strong espresso – exactly what you need on a Sunday morning.
