‘Smimooz’

Smimooz Exel is one of the biggest rap producers in Belgium. Since his debut in 1987, he has produced several songs with Sozyone Gonzalez, as part of the burgeoning R.A.B collective- a melting pot of different hip-hop disciplines. The duo then teamed up with Rayer to form De Puta Madre, which quickly established itself as a big player in the Belgian underground hip-hop scene. Une ball dans la tête (1994), the group’s first record, was also the independent label 9mm Records’ first internationally successful rap album. After Smimooz produced Sozyone Gonzalez’s first solo album, Whuz the Pee? and a compilation, Calmage, De Puta Madre’s second album Technikstonic (2000) was released. Since 2005, Smimooz has produced several different records, including Rayer’s Safari Bizness, Allez Tous Vous Faire Mettre by Deux Fils De Pute (a new group formed with Gonzalez) and Sozyone’s El Hijo De La Gran Puta.
