‘Yo ! Hip-Hop Sessions’

17 Sept.'17

35 years after its arrival on the streets of New York, hip-hop is taking over the prestigious Centre for Fine Arts. The exhibition YO. Brussels Hip-Hop Generations is an immersive experience which tells the story of Brussels hip-hop.
But there’s plenty more. BOZAR is transformed into a hip-hop factory that is sweeping up the whole city in its wake this summer, inside and out. Every Thursday the exhibitions stay open until 9pm and during these nocturnes there are all sorts of activities and performances. On the family day you can discover the interactive spaces in the company of your whole family. The Horta Hall and Ravenstein Gallery form the backdrop to breakdance and rap contests. There are discussions about subjects such as Black Lives Matter and the (il)legality of graffiti. Beatboxers are in residence in BOZAR and young people attend workshops where they are given tips on how to launch their hip-hop career.
