‘Staříci (Old-Timers) - Martin Dušek & Ondrej Provaznik’

Two men are about to embark on the last mission of their lives: to find and kill the former communist prosecutor who sent them to prison in the 1950s. Now the two former resistance fighters who used to battle a totalitarian society must battle their old age, their loved ones, and an era they no longer understand. At times poetic, at others absurdly humorous, with excellent performances of the lead actors, the directors’ cinematic look at the past provides a portrait of the stubbornness of age.  

Martin Dušek  studied TV journalism at Charles University in Prague, and documentary filmmaking at FAMU. His feature-length documentary debut A Town Called Hermitage (2007, co-dir. Ondřej Provazník) was named Best Czech Documentary at the Jihlava IDFF and was later shown at the IFF in Göteborg. 

Ondrej Provaznik studied journalism at the Faculty of Social Science at the Charles University in Prague, and screenwriting at the Film Academy in Prague. He currently works as a documentarist and screenwriter. 

​​​​​​​All the events will be organised ‘corona proof’, in accordance with to the protocol for the cultural sector. The events are free of charge upon registration.

Please note that tickets that are not collected at least 10 minutes before the start of the screening will be available again at the entrance. There will be a waiting list for people who show up on the evening itself without registration.

Everyone is allowed to bring a comfortable blanket or a cushion to keep warm. The evenings can be chilly here. Due to the current covid-19 situation we won't be able to provide that ourselves, unfortunately.

On the day of the event itself, we will check whether or not the current situation and measures allow the event to take place. In case of cancellation, everyone who registered will be notified immediately.
