Female poets after #metoo

With Simone Atangana Bekono (the Netherlands), Ann Cotten (Austria), María Eloy-García (Spain), Christina Hagen (Denmark), Olga Pek (Czech Republic), DAAN and Grażyna Bienkowski.

The new generation of poets takes to the literary stage with plenty of self-confidence, a great commitment, having cast off any yoke. And also, many of them are women. One year after the #metoo scandal erupted, BOZAR offers five female poets a platform to fight back, through poetry. They will read excerpts from their own work during the international Transpoesie evening, while translations (in Dutch, French and English) are projected on the screen behind them.

The second part of the evening will be dedicated to Sylvia Plath (1932 - 1963), one of the most iconic poets of the twentieth century. Her poetry will be presented by the famous Belgian singer DAAN, accompanied by the Brussels-based pianist Grażyna Bienkowski.
