Concert Croissant #12
Edoardo Grieco (violin), Francesco Massimino (cello) and Lorenzo Nguyen (piano) are still only in their twenties, and yet they are already one of the most acclaimed chamber ensembles in Italy. Trio Concept (formerly Trio Chagall) immerses you in the famous Trio by Ravel and his gripping Passacaille for the recital in Brussels. The Italian pianist and composer Alfredo Casella, who was friends with Ravel, played the piano part at the premiere of the piece in Paris in 1915. That was the motivation for Trio Concept to perform Casella’s Sicilienne et Burlesque, a colourful and powerful work for the flute and piano, arranged here for the trio. As an ECHO Rising Star for the ’25-’26 season, the trio will play the Belgian première of a new piece written especially for the purpose by the German composer Clemens K. Thomas.
Rising Stars is a project of the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO). Concept Trio has been nominated by Festspielhaus Baden-Baden and Palau de la Música Catalana.
