‘The True Colors and Body Language of Soft Bwois’

19 May'23
- 19:30

Afropolitan festival coinciding with the Belgian Pride weekend means celebrations of Black Queer People are a considerable part of the Legacies from the Black Cosmos, because we believe that “There Are Liberated Black Queer People in the Future”.
Som•m•e of Us (S•O•U) has curated an evening exploring the identity and expression of Black Queer Men, through their own lens. The screening of 3 short films – i.e. Danny Bailey’s Soft Bwoi, Odu Adamu’s Body Language, and David J. Amado’s True Colors – will be followed by an after-talk between the filmmakers and S•O•U founding member Eric Cyuzuzo, on the topics and imagery of the films, and on the importance of Black Queer self-representation.

The screening and talk will be followed by a free concert by Porcelain ID and after-party, by Kunstenfestivaldesarts, at Les Brigittines, from 22:30 to 01:00.
