Meet the artist

The Belgian singer-songwriter Veence Hanao creates lyric-focussed music that lies somewhere between rap, slam and ballad. Initially active with Festen and Autumn, in 2009 he released Saint-Idesbald, his first solo album, which Octaves de la Musique awarded Best Belgian Album of the Year, and earned him the Découverte award at Printemps de Bourges. He released his second album, Loweina Laurae to critical acclaim in 2013. In July 2014, inner ear problems forced him to cancel tour dates and announce a temporary hiatus. He has kept a low profile In the three years since then, but that has not kept him away from the studio where he has been collaborating with artists such as the singer Angèle and rapper Isha. Veence Hanao is currently working on his comeback, with an EP and a video expected to come out at the end of 2017.

Veence Hanao will have a conversation with Didier Stiers (journalist).
