Vacant position of general manager (f/m/x)

Call for applications

The Centre for Fine Arts (Bozar), a leading house of culture with international allure in the heart of Brussels, is looking for a new Director General.

Bozar celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. It started with the dream, after the First World War, to establish a palace for living arts in which all disciplines were united under one roof. Then came the organisation, the building by Victor Horta and its many temporary inhabitants. Ever since its foundation in 1922, the binding force of arts under one roof has been a catalyst for change and progress. We are facing radical change worldwide. Bozar wishes to continue its development as a house of culture that is strongly anchored in the 21st century.

Thanks to a very diverse and ambitious programme of exhibitions, music, film, performing arts, lectures and events, Bozar has established itself firmly on the (international) map over the years. As an artistic melting pot, Bozar is keen to stimulate multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary exchanges and continue its efforts in being an inclusive, welcoming, and cultural house for a wide and diverse audience.

As the Director General you are charged with the daily running of the company, in which you are supported by the Management Committee over which you preside. You are responsible for developing Bozar's artistic vision and strategic positioning, based on the multidisciplinary dimension, with particular attention for visual arts and music. Thanks to your experience as a manager in a medium to large enterprise, you will manage the organisation's sustainable development, including the application of innovative technologies, with a key focus on social responsibility.

Candidates will be expected to perpetuate and extend Bozar's partnerships, patrons and audience. As team leaders, they will support their colleagues in achieving the house's mission.

Bozar welcomes all candidates, regardless of gender, faith, skin colour, nationality, sexual preference or handicap. At Bozar, we aim to reflect the diversity in Brussels in both our staff and visitors. Our policy and practice at Bozar are to offer equal opportunities in all aspects of employment and to prevent any form of discrimination.
