Completion of first phase of renovation works after the fire

Following the fire on the roof of the Centre of Fine Arts on 18 January 2021, the first phase of renovation works has now been successfully completed. The roofs and exhibition halls have been restored.

The affected roofs, technical installations and exhibition halls have been completely renovated and are once again operational. The major retrospective of Spanish artist Antoni Tàpies will have the honour of being the first to occupy the renovated exhibition circuit from 15 September.

The repair works will continue this summer with the second phase: the interior of the Great Hall Henry Le Boeuf and its surroundings. Although the hall was reopened barely 100 days after the fire, the damage caused by the firewater is still visible in certain places.  During the summer months, plastering, painting and parquet work will be carried out, and some acoustic doors will also be replaced.

We thank all our partners who contributed to this – an excellent achievement in record time. Moreover, Bozar's artistic activities have always been able to continue.
