A tribute to nature and tranquility

Dive into Merope's dreamy universe and get carried away by their urge for natural connection; a harmonious interplay of acoustic and electronic sounds.

On 23 April 2023, the doors of the Henry Le Boeuf Hall at Bozar opened on the occasion of Les Nuits Botanique. At the Center for Fine Arts, the opening evening of the well-known music festival was dominated by the Belgian-Lithuanian trio Merope. Their sound is the focal point between interpreted Lithuanian folk songs woven with their own compositions and electronic music. By using instruments, such as the kanklės (plucked Lithuanian psaltery), bansuri (Indian bamboo flute) and electronics, the group produces transcendental soundscapes that connect.

For their performance, Merope was joined by Vilnius chamber choir Jauna Muzika, conducted by Vaclovas Augustinas who also contributed some compositional works. Together they performed the world premiere of their fourth album Salos (Stroom/granvat).
