‘Concert Prelude to the National Holiday 2022’

20 July'22
- 20:00

On Wednesday 20 July, the festivities surrounding the National Day will start with a free concert. The American violinist Stella Chen, laureate of the 2019 Queen Elisabeth Violin Competition, will perform with the Belgian National Orchestra under the baton of Antony Hermus at Bozat, in the presence of His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen.

The tickets have all been distributed via the website of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.
You can follow the concert live at 8pm on Klara and Musiq3, and on La Trois and AUVIO (at 8.35pm). The next day you can watch it at 2pm on Eén and vrt.nu.
The Belgian National Orchestra presents a varied programme and, as usual, puts a Belgian composer in the spotlight. This year the concert opens with Tango from Benvenuta suite by Frédéric Devreese, followed by Erich Korngold's Violin Concerto performed by Stella Chen. The programme closes with Iberia by Claude Debussy.

This concert is organised by the Queen Elisabeth Competition, in collaboration with the Belgian National Orchestra and Bozar, thanks to the support of the FPS Chancellery of the Prime Minister and the National Lottery.
