Flat Earth Society

A while back, Bozar posed the following question to Flat Earth Society (FES): “How would you approach John Coltrane’s music?” The fifteen-piece collective is one of our great prides on the international jazz scene, but how do they view the man who, for a time, seemed to carry that very world on his shoulders? The Coltrane Mutations presents idiosyncratic arrangements and interpretations of several Coltrane classics alongside new compositions, all deeply inflected with the ‘Trane virus’. Peter Vermeersch, Peter Vandenberghe & Co. will pay homage to Coltrane’s free spirit with a dash of surrealism and a large dose of originality.
